RED January is a community initiative in partnership with Mind that encourages you to support your mental health by doing something active every day. RED January can provide you with a goal and a focus in a characteristically tough month, empowering you to start the year as you mean to go on. All achievements are celebrated, no matter how big or small and the RED community is there to support you in every step of the way.
This January, the RED community and our Director, Zoe Basing, will be challenging themselves to get active every single day. Whether running, swimming, cycling or choosing a favourite fitness activity, the RED community will be going the extra mile to support themselves and others. Their fitness and fundraising efforts combined with your generosity will help continue Minds life-changing work, ensuring no-one has to face a mental health problem alone. To date, the RED community has raised almost £1.7 million, helping continue Minds vital services.
1 in 4 adults will experience a mental illness at some point each year in the UK. This ranges from anxiety and depression to alcohol dependence, substance misuse and psychosis.
“I am one of those one-in-four. For me, it is still a conscious effort every day to maintain my mental health and well-being. Which is why I have decided to join red January and raise awareness around mental health, support and raise money in the process for Mind to ensure they can continue to provide support for people that need it.”
– Zoe Basing, Director
