Planned Maintenance is Key

Planned Maintenance is Key

Unscheduled maintenance can cost a company both productivity and money. When equipment is down, workers aren’t working, products aren’t being produced, and services are lacking. The purpose of planned maintenance is to minimise loss of productivity and ultimately reduce down time. Planned regular maintenance will decrease the chances of faults developing on your mechanical and electrical equipment.

Not only do most mechanical manufacturers stipulate that regular maintenance is a condition of the warranty, but if you are receiving government grants for example the Government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (“RHI”), one of your responsibilities is to ensure that your heat pump is in good working order. This means maintaining your renewable technology in line with manufacturers’ requirements.

Keeping up with Compliance

How do you know if your business is electrically safe and compliant? The fact remains that since the introduction of the Health & Safety in Employment Act 1992, employers are required by law to identify and manage potential risks at the workplace, whether this be an office, warehouse or commercial premises.

To do this, they must arrange to have regular planned maintenance compliance testing carried out by a qualified individual to verify whether their buildings fixtures, services and machinery are suitably working as normal and expected.

Here at SCL Managed Services we deliver a true “one stop shop” solution with many customers achieving cost savings purely due to the fact that multiple servicing and planned maintenance can be undertaken at the same time thus reducing cost.

Further cost savings are seen through the reduced supply chain management needed by our customers when switching to a single facilities maintenance solution. Customers have told us they want a personal service from a company that can genuinely look after them fully, offering multi-disciplines services, nationwide. What we do different is to offer this fully, working closely with out customers as a team to identify the best possible solution to ensure they have well maintained systems and meet with compliance, within a budget.

The other thing customers tell us they want is their maintenance/installation company to have a good understanding of the needs associated with their type of business. Our service delivery is delivered in a unique way, so if you’re a Hotel, a School, an Office, an Industrial Facility, a Hospital, a Retail Outlet, or a Dealer Room we have identified complementary methods to execute maintenance avoiding disruption wherever possible that is unique to each situation.
